Description

Wire Rope
Wire rope is an integral component of all suspended scaffolding projects. At Stone Mountain Access, we offer wire rope in any length to ensure safety and success on your job. This wire rope is abrasion and crush resistant, durable, and low maintenance. It is compatible with every hoist on the market today and available in both 5/16” and 3/8”.

Additional wire rope configurations, sizes, and lengths available upon request.

J-Clamp (Fist Grip)
A properly terminated wire rope with appropriately sized (matched) hardware is an absolute requirement when working on or from a suspended scaffolding. J-Clamps are one requirement of a properly terminated wire rope. The team at Stone Mountain Access can easily provide you with the proper hardware sized appropriately for your application.

5/8” Screw Pin Shackle
Another important component to a properly terminated wire rope is an adequately sized screw pin shackle. A ¾ ton 5/8” shackle is the industry standard and provided on all Stone Mountain Access rentals and also available for purchase.

Thimble
Thimbles help guide wire rope to a natural curve, minimizing the strain on the rope and helping to prevent breaking. Stone Mountain Access provides thimbles for all sizes of wire rope.

Insulated Thimble
Insulated thimbles are compatible with both 5/16” and 3/8” wire rope provided by Stone Mountain Access. Insulated thimbles are required if welding is to be performed from the swing stage. The insulated thimble insulates the main wire ropes electrical path to ground. Insulated thimbles function the same as a regular thimble, but the material is non-conductive.

Turnbuckle
Turnbucks are used to adjust the tension or length of wire ropes. The tension can be adjusted by rotating the frame, which moves both ends of the turnbuckle simultaneously to tighten or loosen the wire rope without twisting.
