Summary/Objective
- The Operations Manager position manages local scheduling and real-time operations that facilitate the maximization of resources (human and equipment) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals.
Essential Functions

- Manage shop and field staff, preparing work schedules appropriate to client needs.
- Collaborate with Construction Manager/General Manager to ensure proper staff and equipment is available to meet project needs.
- Direct and coordinate organization’s financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency specifically related to consumable items, tools, inventory and building maintenance.
- Inventory management and procurement related to supplies, parts and tools.
- Manage repair parts inventory to ensure proper supplies on hand to fulfill client/project requirements.
- Manage Stone Mountain rental equipment repair program and customer repair program for quality and efficiency.
- Assists with Accounts Receivable/Collections as needed.
- Properly address inside sales requests and manage customer service inquiries.
- Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned.
- Determines standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel assigned.
- Ensures proper training of personnel assigned.
- Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity.
- Develops individuals for future advancement.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Supervisory Responsibility
- This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department.

- While performing the duties of this job, individuals frequently may need to sit or stand as needed. The position requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. The employee may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist and lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and use proper lifting techniques. The noise level is moderate.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, first shift, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
- Overnight travel is not expected for this position. Occasionally, local travel may be required.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or equivalent and 5-7 years previous operations management experience
- Experience in a construction environment.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Driver’s license preferred.
- Some positions may require a Class B license.
- Scaffold experience preferred.
- OSHA certifications preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints, schematics and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Ability to speak, read and write English required.
- Ability to speak, read or write Spanish or Polish preferred.
Math Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office, Internet and Windows
