SUMMARY:CPR/AED First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:29 CFR §1926.50(c) states; “In the absence of an infirmary clinic\, hospital\, or physician\, that is reasonably accessible in terms of time and distance to the worksite\, which is available for the treatment of injured employees\, a person who has a valid certificate in first-aid training from the U.S. Bureau of Mines\, the American Red Cross\, or equivalent training that can be verified by documentary evidence\, shall be available at the worksite to render first aid.” \nOSHA Letter of Interpretation dated January 16\, 2007 states that “OSHA has long interpreted the term “near proximity” to mean that emergency care must be available within no more than 3-4 minutes from the workplace\, an interpretation that has been upheld by the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and by federal courts.” \nStone Mountain Access Systems’ Trainer is certified to provide the American Heart Association First Aid course.  This course provides basic first aid and safety skills\, equipping individuals to recognize and provide basic first aid care for injuries and sudden illnesses. Students will learn how to identify and care for a variety of medical emergencies\, including severe bleeding\, shock\, musculoskeletal injuries and other sudden illnesses\, as well as how to reduce the risk of disease transmission while providing care. \nCOST: \nPlease contact your local Stone Mountain Access representative for a quote. \nStudents will receive a wallet card upon completion of the training. \n\nPer CFR 29 §1910.1030(g)(2)(i) The employer shall train each employee with occupational exposure in accordance with the requirements of this section. Such training must be provided at no cost to the employee and during working hours. The employer shall institute a training program and ensure employee participation in the program. \nThis training meets that OSHA requirement to have designated first aid providers trained in how to protect themselves and injured persons from the transfer of harmful pathogens from one to the other. \nCOST: Contact the Pensacola office for current pricing information. \nStudents will receive a wallet card upon completion of the training
